How much should you read into one week?

Not much on its own. A week is short, and some of these moves will reverse. This report says what moved, not what any card does next.

Market prices follow recent sales. A card that trades rarely can jump or drop on just a few sales, so a big move on a quiet card says less than the same move on a card that sells every day.

We compared each card's TCGplayer market price over the last three days with the same three days a week earlier, using the middle value each time so a one-day blip doesn't count. A card only made the cut if it was above our price floor at both ends and its price had changed at least three times this month, which leaves stale prices out.

To see whether a move holds, compare it with last week's movers. If you'd rather follow specific cards yourself, Pokelit lets you watch cards and prices English and Japanese cards every night from TCGplayer prices.

How we measured

We compared each English card’s TCGplayer market price over the last three days with the same three days a week earlier, using the middle value each time so a one-day blip doesn’t count. A card is included only if it’s worth $20 or more at both ends and its market price has changed at least three times this month, so stale prices are left out.
